·        Oversee testing activities of Tracer Flow Test Unit-1 for reliable and on-time measurement of well outputs and capacities of SNGPF and MGPF production and reinjection wells.
·        Involved in the implementation of Asset Management System – Risk-Based Inspection Monitoring activity of the company.

·        Involved in fluid sampling and chemistry monitoring during medium-term discharge testing of three (3) newly drilled production wells.  The results of geochemical data processing, data reduction, and interpretations are correlated it to the geophysical, geological, drilling and reservoir engineering data for update of the reservoir model of Tongonan and Mahanagdong geothermal fields.
·        Involved in the Sodium fluorescein tracer studies in Bao Valley area. The result of the study provided information of the fault structures connection and possible flow paths of thermal fluid within the shallow wells and thermal springs in the Bao Valley area.

The Origin of Zero2One

 No one asked yet how I come to use the Zero2One...But for those who will in the future....It all started in my college days at the University of San Carlos (Cebu City, Philippines). Everyday for 4 years in my 5-year stay with USC (Chemical Engineering is in the Talamban Campus), I always go to the Science Building for my Chemistry (Analytical, Organic, Physical) subjects. Since the chemistry department is located at the 3rd floor, i always endure the hassles of going up into the chemistry floor. In the ground floor, just before the turn for first step going upstairs you will see in the wall the following words... "The step from Zero to One...belongs to God....and everyday since then when i go to the Science Building... it always greets me before I go up to my classroom. It really made an impact on me... since then I didnt only memorize it by heart i become so fanatic about it! Yes indeed, everything... from nothing to something it all started with God. ......Zero2One.

Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream,

He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed

One Solitary Way

Here is a man who was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.  He grew up in another village.  He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty.  Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.

THE ANT PHILOSOPHY

THE ANT PHILOSOPHY by Jim Rohn

Over the years I've been teaching children about a simple but powerful concept - the ant philosophy. I think everybody should study ants.  They have an amazing four-part philosophy, and here is the first part:

Ants never quit. That's a good philosophy. If they're headed somewhere and you try to stop them; they'll look for another way. They'll climb over, they'll climb under, and they’ll climb around. They keep looking for another way. What a neat philosophy, to never quit looking for a way to get where you're supposed to go.

Second, ants think winter all summer
. That's an important perspective. You can't be so naive as to think summer will last forever. So ants are gathering in their winter food in the middle of summer. An ancient story says, "Don't build your house on the sand in the summer." Why do we need that advice? Because it is important to be realistic. In the summer, you've got to think storm. You've got to think rocks as you enjoy the sand and sun. Think ahead.

The third part of the ant philosophy is that ants think summer all winter. That is so important. During the winter, ants remind themselves, "This won't last long; we'll soon be out of here." And the first warm day, the ants are out. If it turns cold again, they'll dive back down, but then they come out the first warm day. They can't wait to get out.

And here's the last part of the ant philosophy. How much will an Ant gather during the summer to prepare for the winter? All that he possibly can. What an incredible philosophy, the "all-that-you-possibly-can" philosophy.

"Work Knowledge Base" concept

Earlier this morning while working in the field, it came to my mind an idea to create "Work Knowledge Base" a database that would contain information on requirements, defects, status, and others of the site/location or scope of work to be done.  The database will be build up with information according to the previous  works done by the engineer, foreman, technicians, etc.  the database will preferably be residing in a server. Once the person goes to the field to do his tasks, he can  take a report from the knowledge base and print a hardcopy report of the requirements, defects, status...etc.  the report can also be in a file uploaded to a mobile pda. I think this application would be a great help to the  user especailly if the user has plenty of site to visits regularly.  With the massive information that comes everyday, we lost track of the information that needs to be attend firstly... and when we come bck the next time to work on the same project... we just realized that an important  job, part of the requirement to be done has not been finished....With the envisioned "Work Knowledge Base", productivity would be increased... This project willbe  designed and developed using VB.NET.  This will be one of my projects while learning the  VB.NET platform..

Our Differences Bind Us Together

The word “DIFFERENCE” is defined as an “instance of disparity or unlikeness, a degree or amount by which things differ” it also mean “unlikeness, variation, or discrepancy”. On the other hand, the word “BIND” could mean “to ties, to secure, to hold or restrain, to compel, obligate, or unite”. Bind is something of a force that makes two or more things stick together.

First and foremost, allow me to pop-up the question “What and Who MAN is”? After the extinction of the great dinosaurs, the HUMAN specie came out so prominently from the evolution tree. Why did MAN come out ahead of other species in such a slow yet harsh and vicious process of natural selection we call evolution? It is because MAN is a supreme opportunist of all the animals. For the opportunist, the going may always be tough but HE will be able to adapt rapidly for any quick change act that the environment decides to put on.

Man being a thinking animal, is an individualist, who is aware of his weakness and strengths. His greatest skill is by using his strengths efficiently and finding ways to use his weakness to his advantage. Man’s greatest discovery is not his tools. His greatest discovery is his understanding that with cooperation and combination of their skills, with another individual, their weaknesses are reduced and their strengths and skills are increased. Thus, we have survived and become masters in spite of our individualism and competitiveness because we are aware that when we work in group we achieve more in our goals and pursuits.

However, not all the time MAN works cooperatively with other members of his specie. As earlier presented, man is an individual and an opportunistic who often work cooperatively with another individual in order to assert his own agenda, be it for self or for the good of the many. That is why we see in the recorded history the various rise and fall of many empires, kingdom, conquerors, and others. These are all workings of Man.

In the documentaries on animal behavior featured on Discovery and National Geographics Channels, we observed that animals fight among themselves for one of two very good reasons: either to establish their dominance in a social hierarchy, or to establish their territorial rights over a particular piece of ground. Some species are purely hierarchical with no fix territories. Some are purely territorial with no hierarchial problems. We Humans have it in both ways; we have hierarchies on our territories and have to contend both form of aggression.

In the macroscopic point of view, we see a world today no less different than what I have just described why animals fight. Our technology may have increased exponentially; we have very fast computers, powerful telescopes, and others. But we do always retain our individualistic tendencies. The world today has so much chaos, tribal wars, religious wars, internal conflicts, terrorism, economic wars , etc.

In the present situation of our country, we observed so much political power play and display of arrogance in the politicians and leaders of our government. It shows the opportunistic tendencies of those individuals. I would say that once in a while, we Filipinos can demonstrate an act of unity in some occasions. It was in the People Power Revolution of EDSA in 1986 that we showed to the world that in spite of the situation and the various degrees of differences in the Filipinos, we can be united for a BETTER CHANGE. We were so successful at that time. But we were not able to sustain the change… almost 20 years after that… now we are still squabbling… the dreamed CHANGE is still elusive.

The coming privatization of our company could be both a threat and an opportunity for each one of us. It is an impending change in our environment. But like the opportunistic MAN who is able to adapt rapidly for any quick and radical change in the environment, we will work together to achieve more in our goals and pursuits.

Before I end this rhetoric, I would like to emphasize that in this competition we called survival. It is necessary that we infuse morals and values in all our undertaking. In this way we become different from the animals that I have so often described earlier. With values and morality, we HUMANS become human.

Salazar Coat-of-Arms

Salazar

Salazar Coat-of-Arms is often a red field with 13 gold stars. It is sometimes topped with a helmet.

There are about 5 variations to the Salazar coat of arms.Generally speaking the older the family the simpler the arms are, and you cant get much simpler than the Salazars. After the 14th Century all branches of the family usually employed the 13 gold stars on their armorials. In France the stars were used but interspersed with 'feuilles de nenuphar',that is to say water lilies. The whole of the tomb of the Salazars in Sens cathedral is smothered in Lillies and stars.
Hector de Salazar, Baron of St Just was the son of Juan de Salazar and Marguerite de la Tremoille. You can still see the site of their chateau at St Just near Troyes in France. In the cathedral at Sens about 50 miles from the chateau is a fabulous tomb which still exists to this day. Here you can see 2 kneeling marble statues of Juan & Marguerite. Just ask for the tomb of the Salazars---Le tombeau des Salazars.

The family is so ancient that The first book found written by a Salazar (There are over 300!) dates from 1476 and is titled 'The history of the Salazar family!' The Val de Salazar or valley of the Salazars in Navarra is where all branches of the family originated.Hector de Salazar is buried under the nave in the church of St Just.
