What is Water Softener

A water softener eliminates minerals that make water hardness, one of the most widely recognized water quality issues a mortgage holder experiences. Hard water devastates machines, leaves dingy cleanser filth across washrooms and kitchens, and dries out hair and skin. With over 85% of the United States depending on hard water for their cooking, cleaning, and washing, water softeners fill an essential need. A water softener spares you from supplanting rashly demolished water radiators, textured fixture heads, and a really long time of tidying up foamy buildup. Putting resources into a water softener spares you time, energy, and cash, and secures your home and your property.

Tomato Story

this one is worth reading. it was from a friend'e email. i could not resist putting it in here as there is something truth about the story... here it goes

A Jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

'You are employed' he said. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied 'But I don't have a computer, neither an email'.

'I'm sorry', said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job.'

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times, and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled everyday.

Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US. He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email. The man replied,'I don't have an email.' The broker answered curiously, 'You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an e mail?!!' The man thought for a while and replied, 'Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!

Morals of the story

Moral 1: Internet is not the solution to your life.

Moral 2: If you don't have Internet, but work hard, you can be a millionaire.

Moral 3: If you received this message by email, you are closer to being an office boy/girl, than a millionaire

work visa and fluid mechanics

Today is the 2nd week for waiting of my work visa. I have not heard anything significant from my employer, except that they are working/processing on it. I was told earlier that it would take 14 days (presumed working days) to have it after I submitted a scan copy of my passport. If my counting is correct then I could have it next week. I am hoping that it will be available then.

For the meantime, I am having a good time with my unpaid vacation leave. To spend my time, I'm busy sorting my digital files in my backup hard disk. I realized that I don't have a good file management system. Some of my files are duplicated or even more... in triplicates. In order for me to be a one notch higher, I need to have good file management systems to implement. In this age of digital files, the first thing you will have is a good file management system.

In-between fixing my digital files, I take some readings on fluid mechanics to review some of the basic concept. In my reading, I began to appreciate the works of Prandtl and Taylor on the modern fluid mechanics. I need to review this in order to prepare and equip myself in my next career as a CPD&T Engineer. I know that it will need a solid knowledge foundation on fluid mechanics. Also I need to submit an engineering explanation of the reason why the MicroMod testing I conducted during the month of August, while I was still in EDC, is not successful. In the draft report that I have submitted, I have argued that the reason for unsuccessful testing is because it did not attained complete tracer dilution in the mixing length (the distance between injection and sampling point). Although the report did not include an engineering proof, I felt that I still owe an explanation to that reasoning even if I am no longer connected to EDC.

Geothermy chapter is closed

A.T.N.S

Geothermist (Geochemistry and Geothermal Engineering)
May 23, 1994 - October 1, 2008

Today, I concluded my geothermy career with EDC. It's kinda heavy, emotional, and confusing. It seems that a thousand vacuum is inside me. But it is inevitable. It is necessary to jump to other energy level... to grow... to seek opportunities...and to be near to my dreams!

For every door that closes, a thousand is opened for new opportunities.

Work Smart Not Hard!

Back again!

Im back again, it's been a long time since my last post here. I promise to be a different Zero2One now! Thanks Elsie C. and my Loyolans 89 mate for stumbling on this lowly blog spot. Without you, i will have no motivation to post here. This blogspot is just an experimental thing of mine...going with the craze of blogging trends in the internet. I do have some eccentricities some time and it is best to put it here because our eccentricities are the thing that make us unique.

One thing for sure, my one-liner will be changed from "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" to "Work Smart Not Hard" or WSNH!

Starting programming

fFirst and foremost, the best way where to start is with yourself. Focus, dedication and goals are important to achieve mastery of programming.

It depends on what school of thought you are going to follow. It's either you are with a Microsoft way school of thought (you embrace all Microsoft tools and applications) or Non/Anti-Microsoft way school of thought...Me, though, i don't necessarily like the way Microsoft conducts business but i decided that Microsoft way of thought will be my way for my programming needs.
the best way to learn programming is to self learn them...join forums... ask questions and make friends with programming gurus... never mind if you kissed their asses...the goal is to become one of them.

First, i suggest you study Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) because it is part of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint). If you can update your Access database, make a Word document report or Powerpoint presentation by just using the Excel then you are a VBA guru already. In my office, i only used Excel to develop a DataMiner to capture data across network save it to Oracle database.

.....When the time comes when your programming needs are not satisfied by VBA you have to metamorphosed yourself...i suggest to take the same road in VB.NET. some say VB is too easy... but just try VB.NET and you will see for yourself the very improved Visual Basic (try the 2005 version). If you really wanted to make another computer language then C++ is for you but if you just want to develop Windows-based applications then VB.NET (from Visual Studio NET) is for you. Another advantage of using VB.NET is its capability to develop applications for Windows Mobile applications such as PDA, Smartphone, etc. Programming with your PDA phone is so cool, you can impressed your friends with it.

From here you are on your own now....

However, there is a interesting language in the market today. Its called "Python". Man, the learning curve for this language is very short and you will not be frustrated. Some of the big projects that use Python are the Youtube, the original BitTorrent client. Large organizations that make use of Python include Google and NASA.

Stay hungry! Stay foolish

On comparing the" TRUEness" of one's religion over the other.

Comparing the trueness of one's religion compared to the other religion will not be concluded in our lifetime moreso even our children's children's children lifetime.

Religion is as old as mankind and as young as ourselves because we are the religion. We become our religion because our strongly-held beliefs, values, and attitudes makes our religion.
Religion are people's beliefs, opinions and worship...concerning the existence, nature, and worship of God, a god, or gods, and divine involvement in the universe and human life. see... no matter how we influence other poeple's mind about OUR religion we will only be partially successful because man is logical... a thinking INDIVIDUAL who will only believe what he perceives is believable. His experiences in life may cause to increase or decrease his religion.
An individual may follow a particular institutionalized or personal system of beliefs and practices relating to the divine (denomination) but that individual is a variant (evolution) of that system of beliefs and practices.
Religion is a sensitive issue. It is the cause of so much war and conflict in the past and present..and it will still be in the future. It is understandable that we often stand for our beliefs... we may write about it pompously, talked about it rhetorically... but in the end we have feed the entropy of chaos and conflict with our fellowmen because of beliefs clashes.
We are all different individual. Let's respect each other's belief. Each of us has its own unique religion just as we have a unique idiosyncrasies and obsessions (fetishes).
(this was an entry to the forum of www.mybesthomes.net about the question on "What is the religion most likely true?")

The most beautiful thing is the....

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."

Albert Einstein
